Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Fantastic views, nice pool area and easy taxi into Argostoli for 8 euros. You can walk down to Lassi in about 10 minutes, but it is quite steep at points. You have to walk on the road down the mountain as there is no pavement. The receptionist was lovely and very helpful and the cleaner was always very nice and polite too. The beaches are a bit of a walk down the hill and then on a bit more, but we're all sandy and beautiful. Lassi also has plenty of places to eat and drink.

Negative: Unless you're extremely fit and quite young, you are not going to want to try walking up the mountain to the apartments from Lassi, especially in the heat! There is however a taxi rank at the bottom of the hill, and you can easily flag down a taxi in Lassi. The trip up to the apartments is meant to be 8 euros, but some of the taxis over charge and ask for 10 euros for a trip that takes a few minutes in the car. As long as you factor this into your stay, you'll be fine. You can also ask the lady in reception to call a taxi to take you down the hill or into Argostoli for 8 euros. The pool area is lovely, but the parasols don't provide a lot of shade through the day, so because it gets too hot for most people to sit in, not a lot of people actually use the pool area in the afternoon until it's a bit cooler again later on. The food was basic, but very nice. The only problem is that as with lots of areas in Greece, there are a lot of wasps there. It wasn't unusual to have 6+ wasps bothering you at once whilst trying to eat your food. You can sit inside the small restaurant area to avoid this, but as this is also the kitchen area, it's quite hot despite the Aircon. The bar area is also nice, but drinks are quite expensive and some days they play strange music (a bit like clubbing music) far too loud. Which is really odd as the demographic of people don't fit the music being played. I did ask the bar lady to turn the music down one afternoon (the only people there were myself and my husband trying to read under the shade and an older couple quietly playing board games). The bar lady looked at me perplexed, scoffed a little, then said she'd turn it down...but didn't? The cleaner was lovely, but did come every day around 9am...which is a bit annoying if you've had a late night and would have preferred a bit of a lay in.
