Unassuming and understated from the street, this delightful 18th-century house has been beautifully restored and furnished in order to maintain its original character, whilst bringing it up-to-date in a most elegant fashion. Terracotta and stone floors and beamed ceilings have been retained, and the result is charming and highly appealing. Another highlight of this villa is its cottage-style walled garden; the terrace is an ideal place to dine al fresco by the persimmon tree or simply to relax with a drink, whilst the cooling fountain is a very welcome feature on a hot summer's day. The views of Mont Ventoux which you can enjoy here are the icing on the cake! Right on your doorstep is the pretty village of Caromb, which offers a choice of good restaurants. This whole area offers many sightseeing opportunities: the lovely little town of Vaison la Romaine is a short drive away, and the city of Avignon is one of the most attractive cities in Southern France and well worth a visit.
